The CRM, Loyalty & Lifecycle Marketing Manager owns the strategy, execution, and performance of Xero Shoes' entire customer retention ecosystem. This is a highly hands-on role that requires both strategic thinking and day-to-day execution. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing a long-term retention roadmap, building emails and SMS campaigns, launching automated customer journeys, analyzing performance, and identifying opportunities to improve customer lifetime value.
This role serves as the primary owner of promotional campaigns, automated flows, triggered communications, segmentation, personalization, SMS, and loyalty marketing. Success requires a self-starter who can independently prioritize work, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and drive initiatives from concept through execution.
What You'll Do
CRM Program Ownership
- Own the strategy, execution, and performance of Xero Shoes' entire CRM ecosystem, including promotional campaigns, automated flows, triggered communications, SMS, segmentation, personalization, and loyalty.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive CRM roadmap that balances business priorities, customer needs, and retention opportunities.
- Ensure CRM initiatives are launched on time, properly tested, measured, and continuously optimized.
- Identify gaps throughout the customer journey and proactively develop solutions to improve engagement, retention, and customer experience.
Retention & Lifecycle Strategy
- Develop and implement best-in-class retention and lifecycle marketing strategies that address current opportunities in customer retention, brand engagement, and lifetime value.
- Design customer journeys that support every stage of the lifecycle, including acquisition, onboarding, engagement, repeat purchase, loyalty, reactivation, and win-back.
- Lead programs that balance performance goals with brand-building, creating communications that drive both immediate results and long-term customer relationships.
Email, SMS & Campaign Execution
- Own the end-to-end execution of all email and SMS marketing communications.
- Personally build, test, deploy, and optimize email campaigns in Klaviyo and SMS campaigns in Attentive.
- Manage campaign planning, audience segmentation, creative briefing, QA, deployment, and reporting.
- Maintain a consistent CRM campaign calendar supporting product launches, key marketing stories, seasonal promotions, retention initiatives, and loyalty programs.
- Monitor campaign performance and continuously optimize creative, segmentation, messaging, and timing to improve engagement and conversion.
Automated Flows & Triggered Communications
- Own the strategy, development, optimization, and maintenance of all automated lifecycle programs.
- Build and manage flows including welcome, post-purchase, browse abandonment, cart abandonment, replenishment, review generation, loyalty, churn prevention, win-back, and other retention-focused programs.
- Develop new automated customer journeys based on evolving customer needs, business priorities, and lifecycle opportunities.
Segmentation & Personalization
- Develop segmentation and personalization strategies that speak to both core barefoot enthusiasts and broader lifestyle and performance consumers.
- Leverage customer data, purchase behavior, engagement patterns, and loyalty status to deliver more relevant experiences.
- Create audience strategies that support product category growth across performance, lifestyle, trail, court, and future business initiatives.
Loyalty & Retention Programs
- Own the strategy and ongoing management of Xero Shoes' loyalty program and retention initiatives.
- Develop programs that increase repeat purchase behavior, strengthen customer engagement, and reduce reliance on promotional discounting.
- Identify opportunities to integrate loyalty throughout the customer journey, including acquisition, onboarding, engagement, retention, and reactivation.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure loyalty supports broader business objectives and customer experience goals.
Testing & Optimization
- Build and maintain a testing roadmap across email, SMS, automation, loyalty, and personalization.
- Execute A/B tests across subject lines, messaging, content, segmentation, offers, timing, send frequency, and customer journeys.
- Analyze results and implement learnings that improve retention metrics, engagement rates, and overall program performance.
Customer Insights & Analytics
- Extract actionable insights from customer behavior, acquisition sources, purchasing patterns, cohorts, and churn drivers.
- Report on key retention metrics including repeat purchase rate, customer lifetime value, retention rate, churn rate, engagement, loyalty participation, and channel performance.
- Develop dashboards and reporting processes that provide visibility into CRM performance and business impact.
- Use data to inform strategic recommendations and prioritize future opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with eCommerce, Brand, Product, and Creative teams to ensure CRM strategies are integrated with broader campaigns and product launches.
- Provide proactive communication around priorities, project status, results, and opportunities.

Xero Shoes is handling our own recruitment. We will not respond to solicitations from recruiters.
Xero Shoes is scaling from a strong-product company into a brand that creates its own demand. This role owns two halves of that engine, and they carry equal weight: the ambassador and athlete partnerships that put Xero in culture, and the organic social channels where that culture shows up every day. Roughly half of this job is hands-on social media management. The other half is building and running the partner engine that feeds it. If you want one without the other, this is not the seat.
On the partnerships side, you own Xero's tiered ambassador program end to end and the elite athlete layer that sits above it. On the social side, you own strategy, calendar, copy, publishing, and community across every organic channel. The two halves compound: the program generates the content and credibility, and the channels turn it into reach and demand.
Organic Social Media & Community
- Own organic social strategy and channel plans across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook: what each channel is for, what wins there, and how it ladders to launches
- Own the content calendar end to end: planning, copywriting, asset briefing, scheduling, and publishing, weighted toward ambassador, athlete, and launch content
- Manage day-to-day community: comments, DMs, tagged content, UGC sourcing, and usage rights
- Write in Xero's voice (independent, motivational, clever, not jargon-y) and hold brand consistency across every post and partner asset
- Brief and review creator and agency content; manage the Joybyte relationship and tighten creative review and approval cycles
- Monitor trends and move fast on reactive cultural opportunities
- Report on organic performance monthly: reach, engagement, follower growth, and traffic or demand attributable to organic
The Ambassador & Athlete Engine
- Own Xero's tiered ambassador program day to day: a roster that ladders from seed creators and Xero evangelists, up through core ambassadors, up to pro partners
- Manage the Pro and Elite Athlete layer above the ambassador tiers: the faces of the brand who lead hero content and co-create campaign narratives for every major launch
- Run the full partner lifecycle in every tier: scouting, outreach, contracts, product seeding, content approvals, affiliate and commission structures, launch-week activation, and reporting
- Operate the recruitment pipeline through Joybyte and GRIN plus Xero's own channels, then move the program toward internal management as it scales
- Own the graduation ladder so the program is self-sustaining: seeds prove themselves, the best become core ambassadors, a select few become pro partners
- Tie ambassador and athlete activity to the TikTok Shop flywheel and to attributable demand, not just posts published
- Build seasonal activation plans that map specific ambassadors and athletes to each product launch across run, court, outdoor, and golf
Partnerships & Brand Collaborations
- Source and close brand collaborations and field partnerships beyond the ambassador roster, and own them end to end from first conversation through live activation and recap
- Build a repeatable pipeline so partnership development compounds instead of running one-off
Content Capture, Events & Launch Alignment
- Plan shoots and events: shot lists, athlete and talent scheduling, production logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site capture
- Manage product seeding and fulfillment logistics for ambassadors and partners
- Build and run the activation calendar against the launch roadmap, aligning creative, product, and partnerships so launches land on time
Customer Service Oversight
- Oversight and escalation only, not queue handling
- Coordinate with the CS team on escalations and surface recurring customer themes back to brand and product
What Success Looks Like
- Organic channels that grow month over month: reach, engagement, and follower growth on calendar and on brand, with a measurable share of new-customer demand attributable to organic
- A live, growing, tiered ambassador roster plus a signed pro and elite athlete layer, tied to priority franchises and categories
- Every major launch backed by a coordinated ambassador and athlete activation plus a full organic social plan, not a scramble
- Measurable lift in brand reach and new-audience penetration, especially younger cohorts
- A self-sustaining talent pipeline that feeds the TikTok Shop flywheel and reduces paid media dependency
What You Bring
- 4+ years across creator, influencer, ambassador, or athlete partnership marketing and hands-on organic social management, ideally in a DTC or consumer brand
- Direct experience owning social channels for a brand: strategy, calendar, copywriting, publishing, and community, not just overseeing an agency
- A track record of building and managing a multi-tier creator or ambassador program, not just managing inbound
- Hands-on experience with affiliate and commission structures, contracts, seeding, and usage rights
- Familiarity with creator tooling and CRM such as GRIN, and with TikTok Shop and creator commerce
- Sharp, brand-forward writer who can match an independent, motivational, clever voice, not jargon-y or crunchy
- Ability to translate program and channel activity into business outcomes and report on them
- Organized under pressure, able to hold scope when reactive requests pile up
Nice to Have
- Experience in footwear, apparel, outdoor, run specialty, or sports
- Existing relationships with creators or athletes in relevant categories
- Event and on-site activation experience
- Experience taking an externally managed program in-house
Job Type: Full-time; In-office / hybrid / Remote
Pay: The annualized salary for this position $115,000.00
